Whether your kids are into parades, big rigs or trains, we’ve got a super-sized dose of family fun to keep everyone happy and entertained. Consider: an eclectic festival in Fremont, a celebration for the largest member of the dolphin family, a fun event for truck-loving tykes and an old fashioned party in the park. Fremont Fair & Solstice Parade
Celebrate the summer solstice with a weekend full of eclectic activities in Fremont (aka the Center of the Universe). This neighborhood festival will feature street performers, local bands, wacky decorated art cars, vendor booths, a special hands-on area for kids and the famous free-spirited (and very unpredictable) solstice parade. Sat-Sun. Event details.

Orca Awareness Celebration
Take your crew to the Seattle Aquarium to learn all about orcas through hands-on activities. While you’re there, check out the Aquarium’s 20-foot-long inflatable orca, modeled after the matriarch of the endangered southern resident population, and learn how ocean debris impacts the whales and why healthy salmon populations are so important to their survival. Sat.-Sun. Event details.

Bicycle Sundays
Dust off your bikes, blades, trailers, and training wheels and take advantage of four car-free miles of Lake Washington Boulevard between Seward Park and Mount Baker Beach. Psst! If your little riders need to make a pit stop or take a break along the way, there’s plenty of places to stop and even an awesome playground and zip line near the entrance of Seward Park. Sun. Event details.

Seattle Walk On 1K & Truck Day
At this special fundraising event, truck loving tykes of all ages can enjoy a fun-filled morning of vehicle exploration, all while making a difference in the lives of children in need. In addition to getting up close and personal with big rigs, participate in the 1K walk around Bellevue College, catch a performance by Brian Vogan and his Good Buddies and enjoy car-themed children’s activities, face painting, a truck washing station and more. Sat. Event details.

Bridle Trails Party in the Park
This old-fashioned fair (now in its 16th year!) will feature a family adventure trail walk and donkey dash, pancake breakfast and kids’ activities (think: pony rides, a cake walk, face painting), plus equestrian drill teams, a petting zoo and much more. Sat. Event details.

Northwest Railway Museum Train Season
All aboard! Step back in time and experience rail travel as it used to be aboard the Snoqualmie Railroad Museum’s historic railway cars. Travel through the Upper Cascade Valley and discover how the railroads influenced settlement and everyday life in Washington state and get an awesome view of the top of Snoqualmie Falls. Sat.-Sun. Event details.
