To help you kick off this (hopefully sunny) first weekend of spring, we’ve put together a great mix of family-friendly events. Consider: a sale with rock bottom prices, a fun activity in the park, a celebration with French flair, a fantastic carnival for the minis, a fashion extravaganza and a popular event at SJCC. Also on tap: the 13th Annual Moisture Festival is back and better than ever. At the all ages variety shows, see awe-inspiring physical and mental dexterity combined with unbelievable feats of strength and beauty and plenty of LOL moments.

Did you know that the sculpture park has a greenhouse with living art inside? Mark Dion’s Neukom Vivarium is an ecosystem that holds a nurse log, which is the home to countless bugs, plants, and fungi. Every time you enter the Vivarium it will look different because it is in the process of changing all the time. Art doesn’t always just hang on walls or sit on the ground, it can also be alive! SAM Creates: Momento Vivere with artist Wyly Astley Create a temporary installation with artist Wyly Astley and dig into the environmental connections between art and science. Take a walk to Mark Dion’s Neukom Vivarium and get inspired to make your own plants, bugs, and lichens from felt and craft supplies. Then, add your part to a recycled cardboard nurse log in the PACCAR Pavilion, and give life to these materials through community support. Bring your own cardboard box to create a vehicle from recycled materials for an indoor “drive-in” movie. Our featured film, The Lorax, begins at 12 pm.
