Fall might be on the horizon, but there’s still plenty of late summer fun to be had around the Emerald City this weekend. On our radar: a popular Hawaiian festival, an exciting event for lovers of all things Italian, a late-summer fest with a spectacular fireworks show and a race designed just for kids. San Gennaro Festival of Seattle
The San Gennaro Festival is back for the 7th year! This three-day Italian street fair brings together amazing Italian food, street vendors, a beer and wine garden and of course, fantastic music, kids’ activities, dancing and more! Fri.-Sun. Event details.

Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival
This annual festival returns to the Seattle Center with live entertainment, Hawaiian crafts and goods and local Hawaiian food. Families can also take lei making workshops, enjoy keiki activities and participate in the annual Musubi Eating Contest. Sun. Event details.

Bicycle Sunday
Grab your bikes, blades, trailers and training wheels and take advantage of four car-free miles of Lake Washington Boulevard between Seward Park and Mount Baker Beach. Psst! There’s only one more Bicycle Sunday left until next summer, so take advantage of this one while you can. Sun. Event details.


Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival
We know this festival isn’t exactly on the Eastside, but it’s too good not to include. During the three-day fest, enjoy live entertainment, vendor booths, yummy food and lots of children’s activities, plus watch a parade, go on a lighthouse tour and catch a spectacular fireworks show. Kirkland Kids Triathlon
Who says kids can’t tri too? In this mini version triathlon, little athletes can see what it’s like to compete in a triathlon, test their endurance or simply get their feet wet. The triathlon will include a 50-yard swim/splash, half-mile bike ride and 400-meter run. Psst! All athletes will receive a t-shirt, swim cap and finisher’s ribbon. Sat. Event details.

Renton City Comic Con
Renton City Comicon (RenCon) is returning to Renton Technical College this weeked. Don’t miss this family-oriented celebration featuring an array of pop culture and science.
