When Wendy Feller’s daughter was younger, she’d insist on only wearing dresses, but would constantly fall, scrape her knees, and cry. Feller wondered: What can I do to protect my little princess? Then, one day, Feller had an “a-ha!” moment. A former sweater designer, the Queen Anne mom combined her fashion knowledge with her Mama Bear instincts to create Züpers, fun and functional leggings for babies, toddlers and little girls.
Cute and durable Züpers feature removable, heart-shaped knee pads that protect little knees. The fabric is rip-resistant and moisture wicking, which is perfect for everyday wear as well as swimming, skating, or to wear under ski pants. A low waistline, gusseted crotch and flat-seamed, tagless label ensure a comfy fit. Züpers come in sizes 6 mo. to 6X and soon will be offered in girls sizes 7 to 14. Solid colors sell for $34 while patterns sell for $36. Each pair come with a set of extra knee pads. While normal leggings don’t have pockets, Züpers have what Feller calls a “secret treasure pocket.” And as a cool “green” touch, the leggings are packaged in a recyclable cardboard purse, which girls can decorate and use for play. With no more scraped knees, princesses everywhere can rejoice.
