Are you ready for the holidays? What? You haven’t started shopping? Oh, that’s probably because Thanksgiving is still weeks away, and the holidays are months out. But, according to the National Retail Federation, over half of holiday shoppers in the US start planning their gift lists in October or earlier. While that doesn’t mean they’re making purchases, there’s a sudden spike in actual shopping when we get to November. And that’s where Toys”R”Us comes in.
Obviously, the toy giant (which has had some very public financial issues recently) is a stop on many parents’ shopping lists. Umm, or not. Come on. You don’t want to trudge out to the local shopping center in the middle of your precious weekend days off? Well, now you don’t have to.
No, we’re not talking about shopping online. Sure, you already do that. We’re talking about “Parents Night Out.” On Sunday, November 12 and Thursday, November 30 Toys”R”Us stores are holding a special event — just for us grown-ups. From 8 p.m.-10 p.m., you can shop the store without your kids. So leave them at home with a sitter or ask grandma to come over.
Along with kid-less shopping fun, you can get info from a shopping expert, check out toy demonstrations and treat yourself to a hot chocolate bar.
