If you feel that going to a family-friendly restaurant is a sacrifice, bring your crew over to Bird Rock. Beaumont’s is a top choice among La Jolla families because of its casual atmosphere, swanky decor, and delicious food. Kids have a great time and even four-legged family members are welcome on the covered patio.
Parents will enjoy the ability to order a good glass of wine or specialty cocktail (bartender Gavin mixes a mean martini) along with an upscale meal. Choose multiple dishes from the tasting menu or go the more traditional route of ordering salad, entree and dessert. There is enough buzz in the restaurant, especially in the evenings, to hide a child’s occasional squeal or a bark from your dog. Happy hour is from 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm daily and a very family-friendly time to visit Beaumont’s. Not only is it early enough to get the kids home and in bed on time, but there are plenty of discounted items on the menu to happily fill you up.
Even kids who are picky eaters love the food at Beaumont’s. The portions are large, which means there’s plenty of mac and cheese for mom and dad to nibble on too. Other kid’s menu items include Oodles of Noodles, Okey Dokey Gnocchi, soup, salad, hamburgers and more. A drink is included in the kid’s menu price. The desserts are on the kid’s menu are personal favorites of the owners’ young children: Peyton’s Brownie and Carver’s Home Run Sundae. In fact, Peyton and Carver have a hand in helping their mom and dad decide what to offer on the kid’s menu. Crayons and a menu to color also help keep the little ones occupied at the table.
After the kids go to bed, grab a sitter. Beaumont’s has live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for patrons to enjoy in a casual nightlife atmosphere. Don’t worry about the kitchen being closed, as the late night menu is served between 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm on Sunday – Tuesdays, and 10:00 pm – 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. This menu includes items like the Fish Taco, Pork Chile Relleno, Chopped Salad and other favorite late night snacks.
If you’re coming with your dog, make a reservation on the patio in order to avoid disappointment, especially when the weather is nice. Reservations are accepted and encouraged, especially on weekend evenings or if you think your kids are more comfortable in a booth versus a table and chairs. Parking after 6pm is free, otherwise there is a 2 hour parking limitation on La Jolla Blvd. Beaumont’s is also open for lunch daily and breakfast on the weekends.
