The Movie 411
Located in Carmel Mountain Plaza, Angelika Film Center is quickly becoming a new neighborhood hotspot. It offers a convenient luxury movie experience that is fun and affordable for the whole family. Arrive early or stay late so your crew can hang out on the large outdoor patio or in the upstairs lounge. Servers will come by your table to take your food and drink order, or head inside to Café Angelika to see what catches your eye.

Movie tickets can be purchased inside at the box office or ahead of time on Fandango. Whether your movie maniacs prefer the front or back row, or somewhere right in the middle, you’ll get to select and reserve your seats before even setting foot in the theater. Once you find your seats, everyone can sit back, relax, and enjoy the show in their own comfortable reclining seat while taking in the big screen and amazing surround sound. Also a major bonus, each theater seat has an individual tray to keep messes at a minimum.

Insider’s Tip: The cozy outdoor patio lights up with twinkle lights at night for a great date night activity.

The Food
One of the best parts about going to the movies is the food, and Café Angelika has something for everyone. Hungry mouths will drool over the menu featuring gourmet and classic snacks as well as larger meals. You can keep it basic with classic popcorn, or choose one of their artisan popcorn flavors like Hula Crunch or Beer & Cheddar. If you’re feeling really adventurous, try “The Junk” which is caramel & classic popcorn, potato chips, pretzel sticks, and cookies pieces, all topped with chocolate sauce.

Snacks are good but if you are hungry for something more satisfying, you won’t be disappointed. Check out their selection of gourmet hot dogs, baked mac and cheese, burgers, or even kale grilled cheese. Healthy options are also available like edamame, a house salad or hummus platter.

Little ones will love the Kids Bundle, which offers a choice of favorites like cheese pizza, chicken tenders, hot dog, or grilled cheese, and includes French fries, a small drink, and a chocolate chip cookie — all for just $8.50. Save room for dessert! There’s even a 4-scoop ice cream flight!

Insider’s Tip: Hold on to your ticket stubs because after the movie, you can dine in the lounge or outdoor patio and receive 50% off all food and drinks!

The Drinks
Drink possibilities are endless at Café Angelika. Kids will love customizing their own ice-cold beverage at the new Coca-Cola Freestyle soda machines or pouring their own all-you-can-drink Icees. If you need something to perk you up, choose from an extensive offering of Intelligentsia hot or iced brewed coffees, teas, cappuccinos, and lattes.

If you’re looking for something stronger, those over 21 can enjoy craft beer, wine, and cocktails. Whether you prefer a refreshing IPA, margarita, or a bottle of wine to share, all drinks can be enjoyed in the café, lounge, outdoor patio, or inside the theater. And yes, everyone gets their own cup holder!

Insider’s Tip: Ask about their House Pour which is essentially a double glass of wine, so you’re less likely to run out in the middle of the movie!
