The Red Door

Named "The Best Farm-to-Table Restaurant in San Diego for 2015" by both San Diego Magazine’s food critic and its readers, and we can’t say we’re surprised. The phrase farm-to-table is thrown around a lot in the restaurant world but The Red Door is truly the epitome of the popular movement. If they can’t grow it or source it locally, it doesn’t hit the table. That’s the commitment owners Tom and Trish Watlington made in 2011. Luckily their garden yields upward of 6,000 pounds of vegetables per year. If you want to teach your kids about nutrition and making a positive impact on the community and planet, The Red Door is the perfect classroom.
