San Diego Bird Festival
The San Diego Bird Festival is a celebration of the wild birds and habitats of San Diego County. The festival is going forward in 2021, and it will be a hybrid event. The festival will include webinars, an online exhibit hall, a silent auction, and small capacity, social distanced field trips where attendees meet at the site. Pet Pals
Pets Pals provides a fun opportunity for children ages 6-11 to visit San Diego Humane Society and learn about their animal friends. Each month focuses on a different animal or animal-related topic and includes a lesson, activity, and animal interaction geared towards the theme of the month. Fri. Event details.

The Snail & the Whale
Tall Stories presents The Snail and The Whale, a play with music inspired by the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Join an adventurous young girl and her seafaring father as they reimagine the story of a tiny snail’s incredible trip around the world, inspired by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture book. Virtual Field Trip with Jazzy Ash
Poway OnStage’s wildly popular Virtual Field Trip Series with a celebration of Black history and culture starring celebrated vocalist, writer and arts educator Ashli St. Armant aka “Jazzy Ash.” Jazzy Ash will introduce students to the musical stylings of zydeco, jazz, blues and swing in her energetic and engaging concert. She draws out the roots of West African song traditions, rhythms and games.  Extension activities include interactive Instrument Match game, a storybook reading and a visual art lesson. Poway OnStage’s Virtual Field Trips are designed to keep children connected to the Arts while distance learning. Each Field Trip includes: Tour of the Poway Center for Performing Arts, Pre-Recorded Performance, VAPA Extension Activities, Virtual Field Trips are presented free of charge to San Diego County residents and schools via scholarships funded by Poway OnStage. BAMkids Film Festival
Established in 1998 and now in its 23rd year, the Festival—one of the largest attended children’s festivals in the country—presents nine days of creative, fun, and culturally diverse films that tell stories about children and present ideas from a kid’s point of view. Fri.-Sun. Event details.

Doktor Kaboom
The hilariously charming Doktor Kaboom blends science, comedy, and a German accent in his series of increasingly spectacular demonstrations of the physical sciences. Star Wars Yoga Jedi Training
Join us for a live online Star Wars Yoga adventure, where kids train using their yoga Jedi mind force to get through the obstacle courses on Naboo, balance work over the swamps of Dagobah, out smart the AT-AT’s on Hoth, learn the art of trade from Jawa masters, use the force to locate challenges left by Obi Wan. All leading up to the final test… face off against Darth Vader. Will your Jedi choose the light or dark side of the force? Join us to find out! Costumes are encouraged. Tour Boston’s Black Heritage Trail
Fourteen historic sites are included in this virtual tour, among them are former residences, schools, businesses, churches of this thriving black community as well as several stations on the Underground Railroad, along which escaped slaves fled from the South to freedom in the North and in Canada.
