Sesame Street Live is bringing a party to the stage, Poway is hosting a Winter Festival complete with snow and LEGOLAND welcomes participants to their Kids Marathon Mile & LEGO NINJAGO Days! Poway Community Park’s Winter Festival brings to life all of the magic and charm of winter like never before! Whether you’re building a snowman, sledding down our snow hill, roasting marshmallows by the campfire, or taking a spin around the synthetic skate rink, there’s bound to be something for everyone! Bill the Bug Guy: The Amazing Insect Kingdom Up Close
Explore the world of insects with Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve docent Bill Burkhardt. Bill’s monthly presentations include an amazing slideshow, microscope viewing and answers to all your insect-related questions. Bill’s presentations are suited for children four years old to adults. Kids Marathon Mile at LEGOLAND
Run, skip or stroll this one mile marathon event for kids of all ages. Though created for kids ages 12 and under, everyone is welcome to participate! Moms, dads and big kids are invited to join the fun in this non-competitive 1-mile run/walk through LEGOLAND® California. Note: the LEGOLAND parking lot opens at 6:30 a.m., event registration is at 7 a.m. and the mile races start at 8 a.m. Registration includes an event T-shirt and Finisher’s medal, free entry to LEGOLAND for kids 2 and under and 50% off up to two adult 1-Day SEA LIFE Hopper tickets to LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium (A $57.50 savings per ticket, valid 1/13/18 to 1/15/18 only for ages 13 & older). Ready, set, NINJAGO® time! The new 4D film, “LEGO®NINJAGO® – Master of the 4th Dimension”, opens exclusively at LEGOLAND® California Resort on Jan. 12! The 12 minute, 4D experience will play throughout the day at LEGO Showplace Theater in the Park. Kids can join their favorite NINJAGO heroes at a very special dojo training session exclusively at the family theme park! Guests can become part of the 4D action as Master Wu prepares the ninjas to take on the teachings of the mysterious ‘Scroll of the 4th Dimension’ but disastrous consequences strike and Kai, Nya, Lloyd, Zane and Cole find themselves in a whole heap of trouble for not only them, but the whole universe! In celebration of the all new 4D animated adventure, the weekend continues with LEGO®NINJAGO® Days Jan. 13 & 14. Guests are invited to join in the LEGO NINJAGO fun at the family theme park and meet some of their favorite LEGO NINJAGO Movie characters including Lloyd, Sensei Wu, Kai, Jay and Nya. Yoga on the Marsh
While you do Yoga, the kids get a unique wildlife experience! Come release tension, stretch and strengthen your core muscles while enjoying the beautiful views of San Diego Bay. The class is one hour long, and it will be taught by a local yoga instructor. What about the kids? There will be on-site childcare! $15/child and it includes admission to the Living Coast Discovery Center all day. While you are doing yoga, the kids will have a close up encounter with one of the Center’s animal ambassadors.After yoga, you and your little one can witness a shark & ray feeding, spend time on the trails, interact with sea turtles and more! Family Days at The Nat
Join The Nat for monthly Family Days to celebrate the natural world and their Museum. Each month has been uniquely themed to allow visitors to explore nature’s wonders, participate in hands-on activities and create crafts to take home. Themes range from studying whales to junior botany. This week’s theme is: Whale of a Time. Learn about fascinating gray whales and join in whale-inspired activities and make a craft to take home. Saturday Science Club for Girls: The Science of Sound
Take a closer look at the science behind your favorite instruments and even design your own noisemaker to take home. Girls in 5th to 8th grade can join in the fun the second Saturday of every month to solve new challenges, dive into hands-on activities and meet with local women scientists with major girl power. 38th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade
Celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 38th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. This is one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the United States in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..
