If your New Year’s resolution was to get out and experience more of San Diego with the kiddos, then start this weekend with events in Balboa Park, downtown San Diego, and Rancho Santa Fe. Kids can get crafty at Lakeshore; experience the art of illusion at The Fleet in Balboa Park; ice skate at the new Rancho Santa Fe outdoor ice staking rink; or go on a nature walk in Mission Trails. Happy first weekend of 2015!
Illusion: Nothing is as It Seems
Take the family to the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center for a mind-bending exhibition that combines science and art to deceive the visitor through optical, perceptual and audio illusions. It shows that what people perceive is often radically different from the reality of what we observe by playfully allowing visitors to experience concepts used by magicians and explored by neuroscientists. Fri. – Sun., 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Ruben H. Fleet Science Center, Included with admission. All ages. Event details.
