If you’ve had your share of picnics, fireworks and the beach during the July 4th week, you’re not alone! Bring the family to any Home Depot for a workshop especially for kids. Young construction workers will make anything from toolboxes to fire trucks to a window birdhouse and bughouse. The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety. In addition to the newly constructed project, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron and an achievement pin. Fleet Science Center and the Global Association of Gross and Messy Education (GAG-ME) invites kids to participate in GrossOlympics in celebration of the newest hands-on science exhibition, “Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body.” Contest includes loudest burp, spitting, smelly sneakers and more.
