Can you believe it’s June already? If this first weekend of the month is any indication of what’s happening in San Diego this summer, there is so much in store for families! Summer’s Past Farm is holding their annual Fairy Festival. Celebrate Flag Day in La Mesa Village while wearing your red, white and blue. Join City Farmer’s Nursery for their annual kids pumpkin growing contest. Up in North County, there’s the RB Alive! Expo in Rancho Bernardo, and Fiesta del Sol in Solana Beach. Lets hope we don’t get too much June gloom weather this week with so many great activities taking place.

Flag Day Parade
Dress up in red, white and blue and celebrate Flag Day at the City of La Mesa’s Flag Day Parade. The parade begins at 10:00 am and marches through downtown La Mesa Village. Wings Over Gillespie
The 17th Annual “Wings Over Gillespie” air show features the awesome howl of airplane engines such as famous WWII B-17 “Sentimental Journey” and B-25 “Made in the Shade” bombers, F4F Wildcat, F6F Hellcat, F8F Bearcat, TBF Avenger, and more. The Air Show will also feature a Kids Zone with rides, entertainers, games and prizes, education displays, a variety of food and beverages, and SHADE. Pumpkin Growing Contest
Join City Farmer’s Nursery for their 24th annual pumpkin growing contest for kids. Future farmers will get a lesson in pumpkin growing and free seeds from Farmer Bill. RB Alive! Expo
The RB Alive! Expo for a full day of entertainment and enjoyment with more than 300 booths. Health exhibitors will provide screenings and information regarding their facilities. Visitors can browse the arts and crafts booths, get information from regional and local businesses, service clubs and religious organizations and partake in tasty treats and meals from food vendors. Fiesta del Sol
Fiesta del Sol is an annual family and community event featuring live music, an arts and crafts fair, children’s activities, and an international food court. There is a special Kids Zone that features special activities just for kiddos with rides, games and hands-on activities. Favorite destinations include the hair salon and face painter, the climbing wall, and bounce houses. The main stage showcases children’s dance groups, musicians and martial arts exhibitions.
