San Diego International Boat Show
This event features 200 boats in-water and on-land in a festive family-friendly seaside atmosphere and is THE place to see and experience everything that boating has to offer, with hands-on activities and education for all ages, including a chance to try Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) and take a variety of boating courses on-land or in-water. You can also enjoy a variety of eats from the area’s popular food trucks and beverages and live entertainment are also available, making the boat show an ideal place for families. San Diego Festival of the Arts
The 2018 San Diego Festival of the Arts will showcase stunning works of painting, sculpture, photography, glass, jewelry, ceramics, wood, fiber and mixed media from nearly 200 world renowned artists at downtown San Diego’s beautiful Waterfront Park. Beyond the incredible selection of art on display during this juried competition available for purchase, guests will once again enjoy live music and entertainment both days, a craft beer and wine garden, a selection of outdoor games and cuisine from San Diego’s top restaurants. PJ Masks LIVE! Time to be a Hero
Catboy, Owlette, Gekko and the Baddies will delight fans of all ages with live performances. Follow the thrilling nighttime adventures of these young friends who transform into their dynamic alter egos when they put on their pajamas at night and activate their animal amulets. Together, they embark on action-packed capers, solving mysteries and learning valuable lessons along the way. Sat. Event details.

Spring Ovation Concert
This afternoon performance features the most advanced musicians from the Ovation level ensembles under the masterful baton of SDYS Music Director Jeff Edmons. The evening’s program also features a solo performance from 2017 Ovation Concerto Competition Winner Amy Lee, violin, with accompaniment by the Symphony Orchestra. Sun. Event details.

The Flying Miz Daisy Vintage Market makes for an incredible indoor shopping experience. Talented exhibitors will be bringing a crop of truly authentic vintage, antique, repurposed, architectural salvage and artisan goods to the market. Julian Backcountry Dance & BBQ
The 12th Annual Julian Dance and Backcountry BBQ features the best in country music and dancing on the huge floor and stage built by the Sons of the American Legion. Fabulous BBQ has been a keystone of the event with all the food cooked on-site in the Santa Maria style on an open oak flame. The wholesome family event is staged each year in a beautiful mountain setting at the Menghini Winery in Julian. With separate events for kids in their own area the “Dance” is a throwback to a simpler time with twinkly lights and bonfires back-dropped by dark mountain skies. It’s an event where locals and guests from down the hill get together for a great time and raise funds for a great cause. Bands include Tony Suraci as The Highwayman  and The Big Fat Steve Band. Liberty Station Outdoor Movies
Liberty Station welcomes back its free outdoor film series on the second Saturday of each month from May to October 2018. Evenings feature surprise pop-up performances or activities along with curated shorts preceding the feature film. Movie lovers are encouraged to arrive early and visit the ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station galleries, studios and museums. Grab a picnic, blanket, or low back chair and spend an evening underneath the stars with friends, family, and neighbors. Movies begin after sunset. MAGEC in the Park
MAGEC in the Park is a new family festival where 6 kids teams will create art on the spot… get your friends, families, classmates, clubs… check it out and register to be a team, it’s going to be fun! “Escondido Inspires Us” is the theme for the art competition. The contest will take place on site, at the festival and will be judged by audience applause and community arts leaders. Prizes will be awarded to three winning teams and all participants will receive two tickets to their choice of any Patio Plays in the Park performance in this summer’s lineup. Register your team here. In addition to the youth art competition, the MAGEC in the Park Festival will also feature a picnic area, raffle, refreshments, face painting, photo booth, KONA ICE and interactive activities. While the judging is taking place, audiences are invited to sit back, relax, and enjoy a selection of songs from this summer’s Patio Plays in the Park series, including performances from the casts of Jesus Christ Superstar, Annie and In the Heights. Princess Academy
Princess Academy is every little princess’s dream come true! Your little princess or prince will get to meet, sing and dance with two beautiful princesses. In addition to singing and dancing, special guest princesses will read stories about how to be a true princess, through kindness and being a good friend. Little royal guests will also decorate their own tiara and wand, enjoy a snack and make a card for a child in the hospital. 100% of proceeds go to Cali Kids Medical Foundation to provide assistance to families who have a child admitted in the hospital. Kids’ Carnival & Brunch
Farmer & The Seahorse is throwing a Kids’ Carnival & Brunch that’s sure to please the child inside all of us. The family-friendly eatery will host a carnival-themed brunch complete with balloon art, face painting, even a petting zoo and specialty cocktails for adults. The brunch spread will include carnival-inspired treats such as corn dogs, cotton candy and french fries, plus traditional brunch staples, including a build-your-own waffle station, scrambled eggs, bacon and fresh, seasonal fruit. The fun will take place on the grassy lawn at Farmer & The Seahorse where you’ll also find outdoor games and cotton candy. Ticket price includes brunch and all the festive carnival activities.
