With summer vacation starting in full force, chances are parents need some fun activities for kids in the upcoming weeks. Rest assured, there are plenty of different things to do in San Diego this weekend. Kids will be hands-on with adobe brick-making and gold panning at Adobe Days Rancho Guajome Adobe County Park. Families can enjoy a Dr. Seuss-inspired celebration of World Oceans Day at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Celebrate diversity at The New Children’s Museum and bring the kids, dogs and friends to the Doggie Street Fair in Ocean Beach.
The Adobe Days festival will celebrate local history, art, agriculture, and more. Kids can get their bodies dirty with hands-on activities such as adobe brick-making, gold panning, rope-making, and acorn grinding. World Oceans Day
Get ready to celebrate the deep blue at World Oceans Day. This year’s event features “Oceans of Inspiration,” themed around Dr. Seuss’ One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. There will be tons of activities for the kiddos including touching shark skin, observing swimming fish, a scavenger hunt, and exploring the museum in a Seuss style.
