San Diego’s colorful chocolate shop Sweet Petite Confections is celebrating our day of thanks with a “Thanksgiving!” themed chocolate making class. Secure your spot at this reservations-only class to learn the art of making fantastically flavored chocolates and bark over the course of two hours while creating nearly 1.5 pounds of confections. During this class, students will play with favorite flavors like warm hazelnut ganache and tart cranberry caramel.For bark, there will be oatmeal crumble, dried figs, candied walnuts, freeze dried cranberries and more! San Diego Ballet’s take on Rudyard Kipling’s beloved adventure tale of an orphaned boy lights up the Lyceum stage with originality and boundless energy. Join Mowgli and his animal pals as they tumble through the jungle, get wrapped up in the coils of Kaa the snake, and fight off the menacing Shere Khan the tiger. Artistic Director Javier Velasco’s modern/ballet/jazz fusion staging, teaming classical dancers with hip hop artists and giant puppets, brings the story to life with a contemporary twist. Acrylic Lion Finger Painting Art Lesson
In this free art lesson, you’ll be “finger painting” the king of the jungle using no brushes and only bright acrylic colors. While finger painting may seem rudimentary, it provides an artist many benefits such as focusing on the artistic process instead of the finished product, stimulating one’s creativity and imagination, and strengthening finger and hand muscles. You can Enjoy XXV: The Silver Anniversary Exhibition before or after your lesson for free (donations accepted). 2nd Saturday lessons are free and include all materials, are adaptable for diverse learning levels, and are led by a Center Teaching artist. Seating is limited and reservations are required. The first class is from 10-11 a.m. and the second class is from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Sat. Event details.

Epic Series San Diego
Get ready for an obstacle challenge of EPIC proportions! EPIC Series is a seriously fun obstacle course race featuring three courses: the raved-about EPIC Course, the competitive ELITE Course, and the ultra fun KIDS Course. The KIDS Course features 10-15 mini-sized obstacles similar to the adult courses that ends with a run through of an inflatable obstacle course and finishes with a giant slide. The KIDS Course is not timed and does not have specific start waves. It opens at 9 a.m. and closes at noon, and kids can go through the course as many times as they’d like. They get one EPIC finisher medal at the end of their first completion. The age recommendation is 7-12 years old, but parents may accompany younger kids through the course at their own discretion. The San Diego Veteran’s Day Parade is a fun event for the entire family and the nation’s largest public parade of U.S. Armed Forces in uniform formations from all five military branches.
