Apples, pumpkins and harvest … oh my! It’s October and fall is officially in full swing, which means lots of harvest and family festivals going on throughout the County. Julian hosts its annual Apple Days Festival over the weekend, and Fall for the Arts kicks off Friday evening at Liberty Station. Of course, there’s lots to do if fall festivals aren’t your thing. The Del Mar Taste and Arts Stroll and the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum’s Family Moon Festival and are just a few things happening that don’t involved pumpkin of any kind!
Fall for the Arts
Start falling for the arts with hundreds of free and discounted arts and culture events in October! The kick-off to Fall for the Arts takes place at NTC Promenade at Liberty Station. Visit more than 50 arts and culture organizations are participating this year including the San Diego Symphony, The Old Globe, La Jolla Playhouse, Mingei International Museum and many, more. South Park Walkabout

Family Moon Festival
Bring the family to the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum for the Family Moon Festival. Kids help museum staff re-tell Chinese legends and enjoy arts and crafts, a calligraphy demo, and sample mooncake. Oktoberfest in La Mesa
The 30th Annual La Mesa Oktoberfest features six blocks full of more than 300 booths, food, live musical entertainment, carnival rides and much more. Fri. – Sun., times vary, La Mesa Village, All ages. Free. Event details.
Julian Apple Days Festival
Bring the family out to the annual Julian Apple Days Celebration. The event features apple displays, music and dancing, an antique tractor display, children’s games and activities, gold panning demonstrations, food and merchandise vendors, contests, and, of course, apple pie. Family Fall Festival
Don’t miss the third annual Fall Family Festival at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum. This fall tradition includes live music performances, food and craft vendors, hands-on activities, a bounce house, pumpkin patch, and much more. Fall Fun Festival

Del Mar Taste and Art Stroll
Bring the family to Del Mar Village to celebrate art, cuisine, music, and craft activities at Del Mar’s Taste and Art Stroll. This community event is a great way to enjoy an interactive art experience will enjoying live music, kids interactive art activities, dog stroll, and much more including regional artists displaying fine art, ceramics, jewelry, photography, and sculptures along Camino Del Mar.
