Movies in the Park: COCO
Aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer. This movie is rated PG and there are food/concessions available and picnics are welcome. There will be pre-movie activities and field games. All dogs must be on leash. One Love’s 8th Annual Charity Yoga Event
One Love Movement, a nonprofit centered around advancing social justice for kids, invites the community to come together, connect and give back at the 8th Annual Charity Yoga Event at Waterfront Park in downtown San Diego. Join for a giant yoga class, guided meditation, live concert and talk with special guest Trevor Hall, a Kids Corner, Wellness Garden, and vendor fair. ArtWalk Carlsbad
The 2nd annual ArtWalk Carlsbad will return to Armada Drive to bring immersive art experiences, visual arts and live music to North County. The ticketed fine arts festival will elevate the grounds above the Carlsbad Flower Fields as chalk artists create temporary masterpieces live and more than 175 visual artists showcase and sell their unique art pieces. Art enthusiasts can explore every medium of art including painting, sculpture, glass work, fine jewelry, photography and more. Attendees can also enjoy live entertainment, a wine and beer pavilion, street food options, interactive art experiences; KidsWalk, a family-friendly interactive art area, and more! Students in grades 1–4 are invited to gather at the Fleet Science Center on the third Saturday of each month to investigate exciting science topics. Snorkel with Leopard Sharks
Join aquarium naturalists and visit leopard sharks in their underwater home off the La Jolla Coast. Pick up snorkel tips as you discover the abundant variety of animals that make their homes among the kelp, sandy bottom and rocks. Intermediate swimming ability is required and previous snorkeling experience is recommended. Participants must supply their own gear. Ages 10+ (minors must also be accompanied by a paid adult). Join a representative of the Sky Hunters organization to learn about the behaviors of hawks, owls, falcons and eagles. Have you ever wondered what you would do if you found a sick or injured raptor or if there were any laws to protect these magnificent birds? This program is not only educational but also allows you to view these amazing birds closer than you normally would in the wild. This event is free for campers or $3 for day-use parking.
