Celebrate National Grandparents Day this weekend with a host of family-friendly events for all ages and see our favorite places to hang out with Grandma & Grandpa all over the city. Tiny Yogis Demo Class

Poway Days Parade & Community Festival
Poway Days activities begin with the annual Parade at 9 a.m. From the pageantry and sound of marching bands and performers to local community groups, the parade is a thrilling sight. Poway Days continues after the parade with the Community Day Festival featuring exciting affordable fun for the whole family. This lively and interactive market fair environment boasts incredible foods, handmade crafts and wares, entertainment and even a robotics competition. If shopping at the unique exhibitor booths works up an appetite, prepare to head over to an awesome selection of food vendors and a beer garden. Kids will appreciate the KidsZone with its large selection of carnival rides, inflatables, games, pony rides and a petting zoo. The Community Stage will honor Poway’s different cultures with various performances and Poway Days’ exclusive Fish Tank competition promotes youth innovation and ingenuity. Sat. Because of the Brave Celebration
The Because of the Brave Celebration is a community-wide celebration with family fun, live musical acts and performers helping honor those that choose to serve and protect us. The highlight to the event will be the awarding of a custom Harley Davidson Motorcycle to a deserving wounded warrior. The event benefits the Wounded Warrior Project and Remembrance Rescue Project. Musical acts include the US Navy Band Southwest, Sal Gonzalez from America’s Got Talent and The Killer Dueling Pianos. Sat. Event details.

North County Gymnastics Turns 30
Celebrating 30 years of fun and fitness in the community, NCG would like to invite past, present and future Gyminny Kids, staff and friends to eat, play, dance and commemorate this milestone. Peg + Cat at San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum
Peg + Cat need your help to make their super-popular honey cake! Learn about patterns and coding to solve the honey problem. The Carlsbad Village Crafter’s Showcase will feature hand-crafted items and upcycled design. Come celebrate 55 local and regional artisans and their skill in a particular craft. Find handmade, vintage and unique goods that will highlight the crafter’s creativity in the areas of woodworking, leather work, 3D functional art, natural jewelry, beading, fabric creations, linen restoration, re-purposed materials, artisan foods and much more. Alley Art Festival
Peruse the works of over fifty artists in this year’s Artist Market. Contribute to the interactive “Sharpie Car” art piece and turn a full size car into a work of art. Kick off the festival with the Alley Cat parade at 11 a.m.,  behold an Exhibition of art that will make you step back and say, “Woah, that’s big.” Be your artistic self and fill in a 2” circle with your own art and presto! make it into a button to wear. Help your kids make their own buttons. Bring a special picture from home to make into a button for free while supplies last. Huntington Beach

Oktoberfest 2017: Kinderfest!
Old World Huntington Beach has been the host of Orange County’s biggest Oktoberfest party since 1977! Starting September 10 through October 29, every Sunday from 2-7:30 p.m. is Kinderfest! Celebrate this family-friendly Oktoberfest with discounted admission. The kids can enjoy the dog races, carnival games, face painting, a bouncy house, DoDo the chicken and join everyone on the dance floor for everyone’s favorite song, the Chicken Dance. While the kids are having fun, the adults can enjoy the great selection of German Beers, and the new menu includes some amazing sausages. On the final day celebration on Oct. 29th, there will be a Doggy Dress Up & Kid Costume Party to celebrate Halloweiner. Sun.
