While it’s true that moms are rock stars in their own right, we think dads are pretty cool too. They drive carpools, whip up dinners, and host play dates. In honor of dad, we found eight of Southern California’s coolest dads who successfully balance their family lives and day jobs, all while making it look effortless. Chris Smeal

Chris Smeal is a PGA member and founded Future Champions Golf in 2004, a junior golf coaching and tournament program for junior golfers ages 4 – 18. The program is one of the world’s largest and most exciting junior golf programs. Chris himself has been teaching golf since 2002 and given more than 20,000 private lessons. Yet even after all those accomplishments, this cool dad’s greatest fete is his 4-year-old daughter, Jaclyn. Chris makes a point of spending as much quality time as possible with his daughter because the remainder of his week is spent enhancing the lives of other young kids. The highlight of his professional career came in 2011 when he received the SCPGA Junior Golf Leader because of his dedication to helping and inspiring kids through his love of golf.

We know there are dozens of cool dads out there. In fact, we bet you know several of them! Who else do you think deserves a spot on our list?
