There’s a whole crazy range of activities happening all over Southern California this weekend. Get your kale on at the annual Kale Festival at the San Diego Peace Garden. Exercise with your doggies at the 5K Paw Walk at the San Diego Botanic Garden. Sample local theater with a performance of “Sarah, Plain and Tall” or Classics 4 Kids “Silk Road.” Or attend World Thinking Day at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum. Pacific Children’s Theater Presents “Sarah, Plain and Tall”
Set in Kansas during the early 1900’s, the children’s novel turned play, “Sarah, Plain and Tall”, is a heart- warming tale about the Witting family history. Jacob Witting, a farmer, unexpectedly loses his wife during childbirth. Sarah Wheaton, from Maine, responds and journeys out for a month to meet the family and see if she can fill the role of wife and mother to the Wittings. During this time, they learn a lot about each other, as well as, the triumphs and tragedies that make up life. Fri. – Sun., times vary by date, Mission Hills United Church of Christ, $7-10/person.
