Read and Romp Festival
A fun family event raising money for early literacy programs in San Diego County. Clifford and Thing 1 and Thing 2 will greet guests, a continental breakfast will be provided, activity/craft stations, children’s band Hullabaloo will perform, local author storytime, raffle/silent auction, goody bags, free books. Chelsea’s Run
In honor of Chelsea King, the 3rd annual Finish Chelsea’s Run will take place in Balboa Park where Chelsea loved to visit and where she practiced with the San Diego Youth Symphony. The event will feature a competitive 5K race and fun run/walk, family festival, children’s activities, team competition, entertainment and refreshments. This annual run/walk is now the primary fundraiser for the Chelsea’s Light Foundation Sunflower Scholarship Fund. Reading Day
Families will celebrate literacy with a day of storytelling, art-making activities and special workshops at The New Children’s Museum! The festivities mark the sixteenth annual Read Across America Day, which coincides with Dr. Seuss’s birthday and is celebrated by millions of school children across the country. Kite Festival
