Insects, concerts, and fairs … oh my! That’s just a small sampling of what’s happening around Southern California this weekend. Head to the OC Fair, which kicks off Friday. Michael’s Passport to Imagination
Explore the 7 continents and their amazing landmarks and icons on a 7-week voyage around the globe! The crafting adventures take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and feature a different continent each week. This week, explorers will travel to Europe. San Diego Blood Bank 5K Run/Walk
Participants will walk or run along a scenic route of San Diego’s Bayside to raise funds for the San Diego Blood Bank’s lifesaving programs and services. After the walk/run participants enjoy post-event festivities, free Subway sandwiches, awards, raffles and fun for the whole family! Prizes awarded for fundraising. Play for Parker
Play for Parker is a fundraiser event for six year old Parker Shaw, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. The event will be catered by BJ’s Brewhouse with dessert provided by Nothing Bundt Cakes. Kids will get to mingle with their favorite characters, play on a giant playground and enjoys games and activities. There will also be a raffle. This is a ticket-only event! Descanso Days features live music, kid’s activities, food, games, and a parade. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and follows Viejas Grade Road past Perkins Store to Descanso School. The theme this year is “Back to the Old West.” The fair, at Town Hall, will feature games throughout the day for kids in addition to country and bluegrass music. The annual Orange County Fair is the premier family attraction in Southern California offering a wide variety of exhibits, foods, entertainment, rides and hands-on activities. There is something for everybody at the Fair including the summer headline concert series, working farm and petting zoos, thrill rides, contests, and games.
