Before you get fully imerssed in 4th of July fireworks, parades and barbecue fun, we thought you may want some traditional summer activities to enjoy. That why this weekend brings you lots of outdoor movie options, family park events, Summer Fun on the 101, and a Sun and Sea Festival. There’s even a Pumpkin Growing Contest Kickoff. Pumpkin Growing Contest Kickoff
Ready to plant pumpkins in your backyard? Come get your free seeds and enter the City Farmers Nursery’s 26th annual pumpkin growing contest! Summer Fun on the 101
The music is a celebration of the unique cultural crossroads of surfing and music, both a big part of Leucadia’s history. Festivities will kick off with the music at 454 Tattoo and Lou’s Records. There will be fun activities and giveaways for the kids and a percentage of the event’s proceeds will go to the Paul Ecke Central PTA for use towards music education programs. Poway Movies in the Park

Independence Day Festival

Viejas Movies in the Park

Port of San Diego Kids Play Day
The Port of San Diego invites children and their families to join us for an afternoon on the Big Bay for a Kids’ Play Day. These free Play Days will showcase a variety of children’s and family activities and classes “in action.” Activities include circus arts workshops, interactive dance party, kiddie train rides and more! Sun and Sea Festival
Families will enjoy art, live music, and circus acrobatic performances and lessons at the Sun and Sea Festival. It will also feature a Kids ‘n Kastles sandcastle competition at the nearby beach for kids ages 12 and younger.
