Is it time to upgrade your kiddo’s car seat? Then you’ll want to wait a few more weeks to hit up Target’s car seat trade-in event!
Starting Monday, Apr. 22 through Saturday, May 4, shoppers can drop off their old car seats in designated drop-off boxes located near Guest Services at most Target stores (in-store drop-offs only!). In return, you’ll get a coupon for 20 percent off a new car seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or select baby home gear, such as playards, high chairs, swings, rockers and bouncers that can be used both in-store and online.
The coupon is valid on purchases through May, 11 and with so many items eligible for the coupon, it’s a great deal! Target’s partner, Waste Management, will accept and recycle all types of car seats, even those that are expired or damaged!
Materials from all infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats will be recycled, adding to the half million seats recycled so far since the program’s start in 2016. Because of Target’s efforts, it has recycled 7.4 million pounds of materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
So if you’ve got that old car seat sitting around that isn’t accepted through your own curbside pickup or has expired, head to Target starting Apr. 11. The environment will thank you.
