A trip to Target is the perfect solution for so many of life’s needs, but sometimes the thought of braving the checkout line or maneuvering past the toy aisles with kids is just too much. Delivery is always an option, but that means waiting a few days, or more, for that Bullseye-branded box to land on your doorstep. Until now. Starting in 2018, Target will begin offering same-day delivery.

Target just announced that it is in the process of buying Shipt, a same-day delivery company similar to Instacart that employs shoppers to buy and deliver products to your door. That same-day delivery service will be offered at over half of Target’s locations throughout the country starting in the beginning of the new year. Target groceries, essentials, home items, electronics, and a few other select products will be offered under the service.

The fun doesn’t stop there, however, the company will expand throughout the year and plans to offer same-day delivery at the majority of its stores by the 2018 holiday shopping season, as well as adding many more of its product categories under same-day delivery by the end of 2019.

Of course, this awesome service does come with a price attached. By early spring 2018, Target shoppers can log on to to see if the service is available in their area. Then, you’ll need to pony up the $99 annual membership fee Shipt currently charges in order to get same-day delivery. While the price might sound steep, it is comparable to Amazon Prime, which only offers 2-day delivery on most of its items for Prime members.
