As if you didn’t already love target enough, now their app is getting even better. Yep. That’s right. Target’s app is getting an upgrade, and you’re going to love it. Really. Like everything else about Target, the mega-giant retailer wants to make their app easier to use — simplifying the shopping experience. So what’s new about Target’s app. Well, we’ve got the scoop for you!
To start with, Target’s well-known and well-loved savings program, Cartwheel, is being rolled into the company’s main app. Yay! If you haven’t used Cartwheel before, you might want to give it a whirl. If you have, then you know that you search for products by barcodes, names or keywords and then save on select items. And that’s all from your phone.
With Cartwheel bundled into Target’s app there’s now no need to switch back and forth. Instead of downloading two separate apps onto your phone, just choose the one labeled “Target—now with Cartwheel.” You’ll need a Target account to use the app. If you’ve been using Cartwheel through Facebook or Google, you’ll need to switch over to a Target.com account to continue using the new app’s features.
If you’re wondering, “What’s so special about this whole Cartwheel thing? And why does Target need to add it to its app?” Target shoppers have saved more than $1 billion collectively just by using Cartwheel for in-store purchases.
Oh, but the Cartwheel migration isn’t the only change. In the not too distant future Target plans on adding mobile REDcard payment options to the app, too!
