Presidio Picnic: San Francisco, Ca

Now in its 5th season, this lively picnic event at the Presidio is a fun way to spend Sunday afternoons with family and friends, enjoying gorgeous views and sampling the diversity of San Francisco’s food scene. Sponsored by The Presidio Trust and Off the Grid, Presidio Picnic takes place on the seven-acre Main Parade Ground, with tons of room for kids to play. Along with over 20 participating food vendors, families will find plenty of entertaining rotating activities, such as lawn games, live music, yoga classes, nature-based arts and crafts and a green-screen photo booth. Plus, on the first Sunday of every month between April and September, the Presidio YMCA will be onsite providing free bike safety lessons and helmets.

Kids will love sampling the pizza from Del Popolo, any of the gooey cheese sandwiches from Grilled Cheez Guy or delicious Indian food from DUM truck. Picnic-goers will find plenty of kid-friendly menus and options, so there are yummy meal choices for everyone. Save room for dessert, because you won’t want to miss Hookt Mini Doughnuts, a new addition this year. Groups with more than five people can also pre-order their food from select vendors this year, which means less waiting in line! Presidio Picnic also works to be a zero waste event. All containers are 100% compostable, and refillable water bottle stations are available instead of bottled water sales, so you can feel good about your picnic footprint.
