Your tiny traveler has gone by boat, by plane and even by train. But by gondola? That’s an original that will earn her serious playground cred. After all, it’s not every day she gets to ride over rivers and rugged mountainscapes to find high altitude adventures like roller coasters, suspended slack lines and geyser-fueled splash pads. We found 12 awesome rides, so flip through to find your fave!

Cloudsplitter, Lake Placid, Ny

If the Adirondacks are on your summer to-do list, be sure to add riding to the top of Little Whiteface in the Cloudsplitter gondola to it. This 15-minute ascent over ski runs, forests and streams offers families some of the best views in town. But the gondola isn’t the only show worth attending in this outdoor adventure playground. You’ll find plenty of other interesting activities here that you can’t find anywhere else, like the Lake Placid Bobsled Experience (think of it as Cool Runnings for your fam), the 4x4 Alpine Expedition and the Lake Placid Olympic Museum, housed in the same spot the U.S. hockey team pulled off its miracle win against the Soviets in 1980. History and adventure are what make this gondola ride worth the trip!
