The Wilderness resorts (there’s also one in Wisconsin) are the kind of place that once you take the kids for the first time, you’ll soon find you’ll all want to keep coming back. For year-round thrills, there’s the Wild Waterdome Indoor Park with a giant glass roof and thrill rides. The Lake Wilderness Outdoor Waterpark at the River Lodge debuted Treehouse Springs this year—a water play and exploration area for kiddos 48” and under. There’s a rambling creek, epic vortex walls and even new little Forest Cabanas you can book to beat the heat. There’s also the Salamander Springs Outdoor Waterpark, at the Stone Hill Lodge, with features like Lunker’s Landing—a four story, three slide structure with more than 50 interactive play and spray features. Choose your lodging based on the park or visit them all.
