As a mom you wear a lot of different hats, from chef to homework tutor. All of those duties add up to hundreds of different jobs all performed by one awesome person, that can sometimes be taken for granted. One mom took to Facebook and summed up perfectly the magnitude of what moms take on every day and everyone should read it.

Blogger Cameron Reeves Poynter of Lucky Orange Pants recently shared the now viral Facebook post about all the invisible jobs that moms do that often go unnoticed. “I am the keeper of solutions. Of bandaids and sewing kits and snacks in my purse. But also of emotional balms and metaphorical security blankets,” she writes. Parenting is so much more than just shuttling kids around from one activity to another. There are so many thoughts and plans that go into everything from those birthday celebrations, to those quiet moments after successfully quelling a tantrum.

“Because all these things I keep are invisible, intangible. They go unnoticed and unacknowledged until they are missed. They are not graded or peer reviewed or ruled on by a court. And sometimes they are taken for granted.” Poynter ends her post by saluting all moms for the hard invisible work that they do. All moms can relate to the weight of these unnoticed responsibilities and we all deserve a little acknowledgement. Way to go moms, we see you too.
