Read Across American Day is Mar. 2 this year and the world’s first and only streaming platform that brings storybooks to life through animation is celebrating! Vooks (rhymes with books) is launching its “Read Along With Vooks” initiative, a special 48-hour free preview that opens up the platform’s entire library for the first time ever.

Starting at 12 a.m. EST on Tues. Mar. 2 through 11:59 p.m. EST on Wed. Mar. 3, kids can read anything they want on Vooks for free! Perfect for kids ages two to eight, the website helps inspire a love of reading at a young age.

“Read Along With Vooks” wants every child to read on Mar. 2 so they are opening up their platform like never before. Parents can access the free preview by visiting and sharing by using #ReadAlongWithVooks and the NEA’s #ReadAcrossAmerica hashtags.

As part of the “National Reading Month,” Vooks is also sharing a series of live read-alongs throughout March. Young readers can head to the Vooks Facebook page on Mar. 12, 19, and 26 and listen to titles that include Kitty O’Meara’s And The People Stayed Home, Unicorn and Horse and Jonathan Sundy’s Where Are You?.

Marshall Bex, Vooks Co-Founder and CEO shares “With the ‘Read Along With Vooks’ initiative, we hope to reach as many children as possible all around the world. Just in time for this special event, Vooks is proud to unveil a bold, redesigned platform with new features to make the reading experience more intuitive, interactive, and personal. Subscribers can now customize their profiles with creative icons and vivid colors, while enjoying a wide range of freshly added resources, and a special function that allows readers to save their favorite stories so they can come back and enjoy them again and again. We are also excited to present curated collections putting the spotlight on books with rich themes of bravery, creativity, kindness, and friendship, as well as biographies.”

Vooks is available worldwide and is accessible on most devices including Apple’s iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple TV, in addition to Android platforms and devices, Roku and Amazon TV Fire Stick. If you’d like to sign up for unlimited access going forward, you can sign up for just $4.99 per month or $49.99 a year. Not sure yet? Take advantage of the free 30-day trial purchasing.
