If you’re struggling to find time with your family after a long day at work, you’re not alone. In a recent survey by The Energy Project, out of 42,000 folks, 71% of women and 68% of men agreed with the statement: “I don’t have enough time with my family and loved ones, and when I’m with them, I’m not always really with them.”

Fast Company devised a evening routine that may help alleviate situations like these. They say you can begin by discussing how your workday went, and since it’s back-to-school season, asking your little ones how their day went, too.

Second, tell your colleagues to leave you alone after hours. Fast Company says “Kids used to intrude on work. Now work intrudes on kids, and also on us, with burning emails, bleeding projects, and broken people.” So if it’s not burning, bleeding, or broken, tell your peers you’ll get to it the next business day.
