No matter how much HGTV we watch or how many pinterest boards we maintain, it can be tough to break out of the age-old blue vs. pink nurseries we always see. Recently we stumbled across this adorable “well-suited” nursery and were totally wowed by the menswear theme and amazing details. With this sophisticated theme, our baby boys will be feeling dapper in no time.
The designer extraordinaire’s inspiration for this super unique nursery? She loves the different textures and patterns of a well-dressed man’s suit (we definitely agree) and decided to translate that it to a room. To keep things feeling clean and mature, the designer stayed away from kiddie-themed items and found decorations that could be used in any room throughout her home—totally budget-friendly too!
To stick close to the menswear theme, the little gentleman’s mom relied on masculine prints and suit-inspired patterns in her decorating. She hunted down this houndstooth rug from Garnet Hill to add texture to the floor, and chose plaid accents (like this pillow from HomeGoods) for an awesome accent to this Luca glider recycled from an older nursery.
Every kiddo’s nursery needs a mobile, and this tie version just might be the most creative one we’ve seen. The designer went thrift shopping to find these adorable clip-on ties and bow ties and used tiny hooks to secure them. We’re sure they look even cuter on her little boy all dressed up.
This beautiful studded leather mirror is the perfect gentlemanly accent to contrast the dark grey walls. Plus, with its mature style and classic look, it’ll be perfect as the designer’s son gets older. We want it for our rooms too!
As crib accessories go, these textured pillows are totally perfect. We especially love the adorable owl and striped Target sheets.
For even more vintage character, the designer scored this classic steamer trunk from Restoration Hardware crazy on sale. The leather straps totally tie in with the other menswear accents in the room.
For some final boyish accessories, the designer decorated these dark wood tables (actually repurposed outdoor tables from Lowe’s) with this adorably dapper hat, tie, and lantern from Target. We’re sure the mini man loves getting all suited up in his amazing nursery!
