It’s that time of year again. Yep, it’s back-to-school time—even if you’re a royal. Prince George’s first day of school is coming up and we’ve got the details for you.

Last year when the young prince had his first day at Thomas’s Battersea, one family member was noticeably absent. The Duchess of Cambridge was sadly unable to attend hers son’s first day of school last year—because no mama likes to miss any of her kiddo’s milestones.

And at the start of last school year, the Duchess’s was pregnant with Prince Louis, and, like her previous two pregnancies, was suffering from a severe form of morning sickness known as hyperemesis gravidarum; it was bad enough to prevent Middleton from walking Prince George to his first day of school. Of course, dad Prince William was there to see their son off.

Now that Prince Louis is here, Middleton will be free to take her eldest son to school. Reportedly, Kate is a fairly common fixture at school drop-off—even go as far as dropping Prince George off the day after giving birth to Prince Louis. Now that’s a supermom!

So when will the young prince start school? According to the school’s website, the first day of its fall term is Thursday, Sep. 6, but notes “on occasions these dates may vary a little for some year groups.” We know the world will be watching!
