Kids love construction projects. Well, how about a few completed projects that look like they stepped out of a fairy tale, were crafted out of 20 years worth of junk, or seemed to be swaying to the music? We found some of the coolest (and wackiest) architectural designs out there, so flip through the gallery below and be sure to share your favorites with budding builders!

Cathedral of Junk – Austin, Tx

The Cathedral of Junk has been helping to keep Austin weird for over 20 years. Built the the backyard of Vince Hannemann, it is estimated that over 60 tons of cast-off appliances, metal, furniture, and other “junk” has been used to create the structure. There is a throne room, staircases, observation platforms, neon signs, and over two decades of vegetation grown in for a wild look. Hannemann will gladly show guests around: there have been weddings, field trips, music-release parties and even bachelor parties show up at the Cathedral.
