If you’re one of those people who always wonders, “Did I leave the stove on?” when you rush off on vacation, Nicole Dieker of Lifehacker has a great way to assure you, “No, you did not.”

She relayed this easy hack: Just take a picture of your stovetop dials before you leave. That way, you’ll have photo evidence that you didn’t pull an epic mom-brain and leave anything on that shouldn’t be.

Worried about anything else? The thermostat, the hair straightener, the iron — or anything else you want to make sure is in the “off” position”? Take pics of them, too. That way, you can actually relax when you’re away from home.
