One of the best things about being a parent in NYC is the dizzying number of options of all things kid-related. This is never more true than when it comes to “Mommy & Me” classes. Even if the idea of sitting around in a circle and singing with other parents and kids makes you cringe (you’re not alone, by the way), there is a class out there you will actually enjoy. (Your kid?: They’ll love it.) We’ve rounded up more than a dozen classes to take with your tot, from tummy time to sign language to all kinds of music to get you and the kid movin’ and groovin’. (Daddies are of course welcome, too.) Click on through to find your perfect match!

Best for musical exploration

Everyone knows the Bob Marley song about birds singing, "Everything little things gonna be alright." This is exactly the feeling you get as soon as you walk into TLB Music. Located in colorful and creative rooms, your little one will smile along with the singer and piano player as they use puppets, books and different instruments to make the music come alive. Your little musician has the chance to touch real instruments as well as play along on their own smaller ones. The words of the songs are written on the white board so adults can feel confident belting out the tunes as well, which is especially helpful if you rotate between which caregiver brings your child any given week.

Be in the Know: There's an awesome playroom downstairs that's open seven days a week, and free play hours are built into their music class packages.

Ages: 4 months - 6 years old

Location: 266 E. 78th St. (Btw 2nd and 3rd Ave.)

Cost: A full session (14 weeks) is $400, includes 4 free play passes. A half-session (7 weeks) is $310, includes 1 free play pass.
