Dads are the ultimate jugglers, from pancakes made to order to Sunday evening storytime. To honor all of the cool dudes in our life, we want you to meet nine New York City dads that inspire us. From teaching kids about healthy food to bringing design-forward kids’ gear to the marketplace, these dads are committed to spending as much time with their kids as they can and are, ultimately, redefining what it means to be a dad today.

Dan Nissanoff

A serial entrepreneur, Dan was founder and president of Portero and founder and CEO of Partminer before launching Make Meaning, a chain of shops that launched in Manhattan offering such 'creative experiences' as cake decorating, ceramics, jewelry making and more for kids and adults. The dad of Asher, eight, and Phoebe, six, this Upper East Sider loves planning days out with his kids and his wife, Amy. "Whether it's a Yankees game, skiing or golf, I focus on things we can enjoy doing for years to come." He prides himself on being creative when it comes to both his work at Make Meaning and his attempts to find balance. "There just isn’t enough time during the day," he says. "I work Sundays so I can come home early on some weekdays to spend time with my family and they come to the store when I'm there. We're creative about when we spend time and the way we spend it. It's the quality that counts."

Biggest personal accomplishment: "Writing a bestselling book called Futureshop: How the New Auction Culture Will Revolutionize the Way We Buy, Sell, and Get the Things We Really Want."

Biggest professional accomplishment: "Creating Make Meaning and bringing it to communities for everyone to enjoy. The ability to host people's special celebrations and milestone moments is a real honor."
