Sure, the label “Power Mom” can be a bit intimidating — especially in this city. (Do they sleep? Have talons? What’s the deal?) But we promise, after reading about this group of awesome, accomplished women, even the most wary among you will feel pumped. Representing fields ranging from design, media, education, science, fashion, finance and beyond — and often possessing a killer entrepreneurial streak — these ladies are inspiring examples of sisters doin’ it for themselves, while also making family a priority. (Oh, but “Work/Life” balance? They all kind of call B.S. on that concept, and offer their own take on it.) Click through to meet your new lady-crushes!

Nicole Feliciano, Founder & CEO, MomTrends

Nicole Feliciano is living the digital dream (at least one of them). Her boutique digital media agency MomTrends started as a blog and grew into a million dollar company. ("I needed a career that was flexible, but tapped into my love of fashion. I decided to create my own perfect job," says the Ralph Lauren veteran.) A favorite quote is from Truman Capote, "I live in Brooklyn, by choice,"; Feliciano does too, with her two daughters, ages 11 and eight, with whom she loves to read and run. (Her daughters are up to two miles, while Feliciano just broke her personal best for the Brooklyn Half.)

Yet Another Reason To Like Her: She wrote a book to help you be a Power Mom. Mom Boss not only shares Feliciano's entrepreneurial success story, but those of 50 other Mom Bosses, as well as practical tips on launching a business and ideas on how to grow a brand. Yes, she says: women can do anything — even after having kids.

Work/Life: "Something’s got to give. What are you going to give up to make your dreams come true? I talk about the sacrifices we have to make to grow a business. I sleep less than most and don’t get to see my girlfriends much, but I have a business I love and I revolve my work life around family. My tip for balance is to not try to do it all. Let some stuff go. I don’t bake and the only girlfriends I see are the ones who work with me or those who run."
