Love your avocado toast? Always order a side of guacamole? Now you could earn some cash to eat your favorite food with a new paid study to eat avocados. Yes, it’s really that simple.
Researchers from Loma Linda University, Penn State, Tufts University and the University of California, Los Angeles are on the hunt for 1,000 participants for a new study on the health benefits of avocados. Those chosen for the study really need to like the green stone fruit, as participants will be paid to eat avocados—every day—for six months.

The study, funded by the Hass Avocado Board, has been dubbed, “The Habitual Diet and Avocado Trial” and will examine whether or not eating avocados can help with weight loss, specifically whether or not eating one a day can help reduce fat in the abdomen.
“Since avocados contain the highest fat content of any fruit, it seems illogical to think they might actually help people lose their belly fat,” Loma Linda University reported.
The researchers from Penn State will also be looking at the cardiovascular effects of eating avocados daily, as previous studies have shown that it could lower blood pressure.
So, how do you join the study? To qualify you need to live by one of the campuses involved in the study as participants must attend clinical visits and dietary meetings throughout the six-month trial. You also need to be 25 or older and measure at least 35 to 40 inches around the waist, depending on gender. You can find out more about how to participate in the avocado study here.
