The circa 1900 concert harp in the Music Room is a favorite of Pittock Mansion visitors. But what kinds of harps are there, what do they sound like, how do you play them? Hit the Screening of “Coraline,”
All Classical Portland will present a screening of “Coraline,” the 2009 first feature film from Portland-based animation studio LAIKA at the Hollywood Theatre. This 3D dark fantasy film was an immediate hit with both children and adults because of its creative and captivating storyline and innovative production aesthetics. In keeping with the Halloween spirit, the event will feature ‘spooky’ prelude music performed on Hollywood Theatre’s pipe organ, the only such instrument in a public theater in the city. Attend the Family Resource Fair
Meet with more than 20 nonprofit organizations that offer free and low-cost services to families! The Family Resource Fair features engaging displays, activities for children and information for adults. Exhibits highlight a wide range of topics including children’s healthcare, educational support for kids of all abilities, nutritional services, fine arts, mentoring and more.

Families are encouraged to visit tables and talk with representatives about programs and services. Families who visit five tables will receive one free raffle ticket. Drawing prizes include tickets to the Oregon Zoo; passes to the Northwest Children’s Theater; kids’ birthday party packages at Young Art, Sunset Lanes, and John’s Incredible Pizza; and much more.

Children attending the fair will receive one free book while supplies last. In addition, children ages three to seven years old, not already tested in other programs, can receive free vision screenings.
