One part retail store, one part play space, and one part community space, Sprout is known for reinventing the shopping experience for the modern mom. Now with a new location across the Golden Gate Bridge, Sprout is bringing its sweet amenities and products that you’ve come to expect and love — from story time and activities to style and gear — to Marin families. Read on to find out what’s sprouting up in Mill Valley.
What You’ll Find in the New Store
Located in the heart of downtown Mill Valley, the new store (it’s located in the former Baby and Kids Company space) comes in at 2,600 square feet, a monstrosity compared to the quaint Union Street outpost. Despite the high ceilings and enough space between the displays to maneuver a stroller around, the new shop still features the same sensibility, style, and products that you expect from this popular boutique. Here you’ll discover products and gear like Kicky Pants footies, Under the Nile layette, original Sprout shampoo and conditioner, Miyim Organic plush Sports Ball (exclusive to Sprout) and much more. Each display is organized by color and type of style, and is hyper organized putting our haphazard closets to shame.
The space is divided into three main areas: the retail boutique, furniture room (pictured directly above), and play space (pictured directly below). The size of the store allows for Sprout to showcase more furniture than any other location. Soon you’ll find a twin bed, a couple of bunk beds, desks and armoires to peruse. While you shop furniture and more, your kids can play with the toys, trucks, puzzles and games in the bright and cheerful play room.
Any Bay Area parent who has frequented the Union Street location knows that Sprout is much more than just a traditional retail space and the new spot in Mill Valley is no different. Here you’ll have the option of a variety of classes and activities like a Diapering for Dads workshop, Little Folkies music class, baby sign language, story time with JAMaRoo, and dance and creative movement (you can check out their full calendar of events here).
Bonus: Celebrate the grand opening on March 22, 2014 with face painting, balloon animals, music, kids yoga, story time, and more.
Metered parking is available all around Mill Valley’s downtown square, and we guarantee you’ll pay less here than on Union Street.
