Kids’ Birthday Party Venues in Marin

True, Marin is home to a wonderful supply of public parks and beaches that make for some fabulous kids birthday party venues (Pixie Park, Stinson Beach, Piper Park, anyone?). But if you’re planning a party in December or February, you can’t rely on California weather to save the day. Here are a few of our (and RT readers) picks for best birthday party venues in Marin. Feel free to add your own!

Bay Area Discovery Museum
Sausalito’s Bay Area Discover Museum is among kids’ top pick for a visit, so a birthday party there wins you major points! They’ve got a range of packages available, so you can simply rent a private room for your gathering, or go for the gold with the bonanza package, which includes all that plus a theme (like treasure hunt, cowgirls and cowboys, space, dinosaurs, and more), decorations, plates, utensils, goodie bags, and admission for up to 30 kids and 30 adults!

Little Gym
A birthday party at the Little Gym in Sausalito means you’ll have the entire facility, full of ramps, bars, balance beams and bouncy mats, to yourselves. Kids are led through games, songs, and other activities through the gym. Little Gym is a full-service operation— they’ll send the invites, set up and clean up, provide all the plates, utensils, cups, napkins, balloons and streamers, even drinks.

Doodlebug
If you don’t want to worry about a thing except throwing the perfect party for your creative kid, San Anselmo’s Doodlebug will provide space, a theme and a project, and even a cake for your guests. Kids can decorate a wooden-framed mirror, paint pottery, make jewelry, build with clay, or even pick up some new painting and drawing skills.

Love2Dance
Want to send home a bunch of tired and happy kids? Little movers and shakers get their ya-yas out at Love2Dance’s themed birthday parties. Whether your kid’s into disco, rock, hula, or High School Musical, this Novato-based outfit will tailor a party to get them moving and grooving. Even would-be-wallflowers get into the dance games and lessons…and all parents have to do is bring food and beverages.

Morning Star Farm
When your little one’s begging for a pony for his birthday, you may not be able to fulfill that wish, but to make him king for a day and thrill him and his friends, throw his birthday party at Novato’s Morning Star Farms. They’ll take kids as young as 3 on a scenic ride (just around the grounds) on one of their gentle ponies. Kids also get to check out the petting zoo (where there are pigs, goats, geese, and more) and frolic on the Rainbow Play structure, then enjoy a picnic in the apple orchard. You bring the food and decorations, they provide the fun. (And if your kid also HAS to have a bouncy house, they can add that on for a small fee!)
