Take it Outside: 10 Family-Friendly Places to Dine Al Fresco
We’re finally getting good at eating outside in this town: Compared to a few years back, more and more Seattle-area restaurants are offering al fresco seating to let families squeeze the most out of our sweet summer and golden fall months. We’ve hand-picked ten awesome outdoor patios you don’t want to miss. Some are old favorites, and others are newer to the scene. Read on for our shortlist, and don’t forget the sun hats on your way out the door!
Skillet Diner – Ballard
The airstream-turned-brick-and-mortar burger spot launched shops in Capitol Hill and the Seattle Center Armory before opening doors at the uber-eco Greenfire Campus in Ballard in mid-August. While you’ll find a few outdoor seats at Skillet’s Cap Hill shop, the patio at the new Ballard Skillet seats about 20. If kiddos need something to follow up their oversized grilled pb+js, Parfait ice cream is opening next door to Skillet in the coming weeks. On second thought, maybe you should split the sandwich to save room for that push pop.
