Target knows toys. Well, of course they do. After all, you hit the big red bullseye every time you need to play Santa, shop for gift or buy your kiddo a birthday present. Now the mega-retailer is releasing their 2017 Top Toys list. And we’ve got the scoop on what’s good, great and totally, absolutely essential this year.
The toy-knowing pros at Target have spent the better part of 2017 getting familiar with the latest trends and newest, hottest products. Yeah, we all want the best of the best when it comes to holiday shopping. But Target’s gone far beyond a December list, and put together something that’s much more major.
Executive vice present and chief merchandising officer for Target, Mark Tritton, notes, “With Target’s broad assortment, we’re a destination for toys throughout the entire year. Leading up to the holidays, we’ve spent months watching the latest trends, curating the best-of-the-best products and partnering with top toy makers to create some amazing Target-exclusives — all to make gift-giving easy and fun for our guests.”
So what’s on Target’s 2017 list? Well… a lot. When it comes to licensed characters, Target’s list includes favorites such as LEGO Star Wars, Spider-Man, My Little Pony and Disney Pixar Cars 3. In terms of techy toys, Nintendo Switch, Star Wars Force Link BB-8 Mega Playset and Meccano Erector M.A.X. Robotic Interactive Toy with Artificial Intelligence are top picks.
Active toys that top the list include Laser X Two Player Laser Gaming Set, Jetson Jupiter Light-Up Kick Scooter and BONK Board Game. Little ones will enjoy interactive selections, such as Hatchimals Surprise and Luvabella Interactive Baby Dolls.
If your kiddo is all about imaginative play, Hot Wheels Super Ultimate Garage Playset, Melissa and Doug Deluxe Star Diner Restaurant and the Barbie Dream Camper are all big ones this year.
