Having trouble reconciling your kids love of magnatiles with your own aversion to have big chunks of plastic strewn throughout your eco-fabulous house?

It’s time to check out Tegu blocks, the ideal melding of form + function + sustainability.

We first spotted these sweet little magnetic building blocks at Jayneoni Moore’s Oscar Gift Suite where celeb moms and dads were simply gobbling them up, inspired not only by the clean design, but by Tegu co-founder Chris Haughey’s vision to create a for-profit business that would have a transforming effect on the lives of Hondurans.

Home to beautiful hardwoods, Honduras has been the perfect spot for the sustainable manufacturing of Tegu’s wooden products. The Tegu cooperative in Honduras is certfied by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and facilitates the forest’s natural regeneration cycle. Additionally, they have partnered with local communities to support reforestation, donating a portion of revenue to replanting efforts when Tegu blocks are sold.Today, Tegu blocks inspire children while addressing unemployment, neglected natural and human resources and the need for entrepreneurship in Honduras.

We particularly love the Tegu Pocket Pouches (pictured) that come with their own travel bag and are the perfect pint-sized entertainment for airplanes and car rides.
