When Ohio couple Christopher and Christina Sanders decided to become a foster family, they new they would be in for a challenging and rewarding experience. But they had no idea just how much it would change their lives. Check out the tear-inducing video below of the day they officially became a family of thirteen.
The Sanders couple already had five biological children on their own when they decided to foster four brothers in 2014. The boys’ two sisters joined them in 2016, and now the Sanders have officially adopted all six kids — making them a family of thirteen in all.
“This whole experience has been so rewarding for us because taking care of the kids and caring for the kids through these past couple years, we got so close to them and developed such tremendous love for these children,” Christopher Sanders told ABC News. “There’s nothing we wouldn’t do for these children. We just want the best for them. We felt like we had to do whatever we thought we could do to help. They’re definitely my children.”
Other than the typical brother and sister disagreements, the family is getting along great, Christopher Sanders says. “This whole transition has been so beautiful,” he said. “I can’t complain about anything. I would definitely recommend foster parenting to anyone.”
