If you and your family are big fans of Halloween, then you know the joys of celebrating with jack-o’-lanterns and over-sized spider webs for weeks on end. And for one awesome town, Halloween is more than just a single a day, it’s a month-long, spooktacular celebration.
Disney’s Halloweentown is a holiday classic about a magical place where witches, werewolves, ghosts and goblins reside. The 1998 movie was filmed in the town of St. Helens, Oregon and the citizens take that starring role very seriously. Every year for the entire month of October, the town celebrates the season with the Spirit of Halloweentown festival. St. Helens gets decked out in Halloween decor, including a giant pumpkin like the one in the movie at the town’s center. Every citizen takes part in the extravaganza that includes special photo spots, haunted tours and a scarecrow trail through town.
Weekends throughout the month feature special ticketed events, like both a kids and adults haunted house, tractor rides, live concerts, pumpkin carving contests, costume dance parties, costume contests, meet-and-greets with actors from the movie and so much more.
