At just five years old Harper Beckham has already made waves in the world. Besides being adorable and the daughter of famous parents, her fashion sense helped launch a line of clothing at Target with her mom. Now her parents have officially trademarked her name. It might seem like an over the top move, but keep reading to find out why it’s pretty brilliant parenting.

Trademarking Harper’s name means that she is the only person allowed to use her own name on a product, protecting her from anyone looking to take advantage and make a buck using her name to sell something. David and Victoria Beckham both already have their names trademarked. The couple’s sons, Cruz, Romeo, and Brooklyn, also have their names trademarked and have already put them to use branding their own projects that include music, photography, and modeling.

Clearly the Beckhams are a talented clan and it’s great to see Victoria and David taking so much care to protect their kids at an age when they are too young to fully understand just how lucky they are.
